The President of the United States, Donald Trump, announced that he will sign an executive order to appoint Attorney General Pam Bondi as the head of a task force aimed at eradicating anti-Christian bias.

"After years of decline, we Americans are reaffirming our true identity as a people ordained by God to be the freest and most exceptional nation that has ever existed on the face of the Earth," Trump said.

It is important to remember that Trump attributed his victory over Kamala Harris in the 2024 elections to the fact that God spared his life after surviving the attack in Pennsylvania to "restore the greatness of the United States."

The United States Senate approved on Tuesday, February 4, the nomination of Pam Bondi as the new Attorney General in the Donald Trump Administration. With 54 votes in favor and 46 against, Bondi replaces Democrat Merrick Garland and takes over the leadership of the Department of Justice.

Former Florida Attorney General (2011-2019), Bondi was notable for being the first woman to hold that position in the state. She also was part of the transition team for Trump's first term and was one of his main defenders during his impeachment in 2020.

During his confirmation hearing on January 15, Bondi assured that he will guarantee the independence of the Department of Justice and fight against political influence within the institution. He also committed to strengthening security at the border with Mexico, tackling fentanyl trafficking, gang violence, and other criminal activities.

Bondi's appointment came after Matt Gaetz resigned from his position amid personal scandals. Now, the new Attorney General faces the challenge of restoring public trust in the Department of Justice and advancing the security agenda of the Republican government.

President Donald Trump broke his recent absence from Cabinet ceremonies by attending the swearing-in of Pam Bondi as Attorney General of the United States this Wednesday. In the past two weeks, the President had delegated these ceremonies to Vice President JD Vance and other officials.

Trump's presence at the event marked a significant gesture, as Bondi's confirmation process was characterized by debate over her independence from the White House. The former Florida Attorney General and member of the ex-president's legal team during his first impeachment trial stated that she will lead the Department of Justice without external influences.

This is not the first time questions have arisen about the autonomy of the Department when a president appoints a close ally. However, Bondi has insisted that her priority will be to enforce the law without political motivations.
