The popular Cuban actor Jorge Martínez revealed why he chose not to attend the funeral of Paulito FG, with whom he shared a strong friendship and had the opportunity to share stages and television sets many times.

Jorge wrote in a post by actress and presenter Yasbell Rodríguez Valdés in tribute to the singer, who passed away in a traffic accident on the Malecón in Havana last Saturday.

"I didn't want to, or I couldn't go to his funeral; I don't want to see him like that at the farewell. I want to remember him happy, always messing around with his mind on a project, with his endless energy, with his vibe, being a good friend, a good partner, and helping newcomers. That's how I want to remember him always, and I know you do too," he expressed.

"They say that gratitude is not eternal, but mine for you is," the young woman expressed on her Instagram account.

"When I received the news yesterday, I didn't want to acknowledge it. So many memories flooded back of us laughing together, me pushing you during work processes for being stubborn, and you explaining everything to me with detail and endless patience about why and that we were on the road to success," said Yasbell, who resides in the United States.

"I remembered every lesson, every opportunity you gave me, and how you have always believed in me. (...) You never stopped dreaming, filled with art, because you are; and it will always be this way: an icon of culture and magic for the ears," he added.
