La Cintumbare claims to be "the happiest deportee" in Cuba

The Cuban influencer Cinthya Medrano, "La Cintumbare," was deported to Cuba after failing to appear before an immigration judge in the U.S. She claims to be happy and full of plans.

The influencer Cinthya Medrano García, known on social media as "La Cintumbare", is heating up the networks with new statements about how she feels in her new life on the island. She claims to be "the happiest deportee" in Cuba.

"The news of the moment is that they deported La Cintumbare to Cuba. So what?" she expressed in a video. In her statements, she claimed to be full of money and have many plans.

"No nothing happened. I’m in Cuba filled with dollars, riding high, looking beautiful and clever. Nothing happened, La Cintumbare is the happiest deportee," declared the controversial influencer.

Deported for failing to appear before the immigration judge

The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detailed that Medrano García was deported because she failed to appear before the immigration judge on October 18, 2023. This absence resulted in an order of deportation in absentia.

The 28-year-old woman, before being deported to Cuba on the first repatriation flight of the current Donald Trump administration, spent several weeks in the custody of U.S. immigration authorities.

ICE explained that Medrano García entered the United States on June 6, 2022, through Lukeville, Arizona. She was detained by the Border Patrol and released on June 8, under a recognizance order with periodic reporting requirements.

However, by failing to appear before the judge in October 2023, a deportation order was issued in absentia. In August 2024, the influencer attempted to reopen her case, but her request was denied.

On January 11, 2025, a Border Patrol unit in Rocksprings, Texas, intercepted her and confirmed her irregular immigration status. She was arrested and transferred to the Karnes County Immigration Processing Center on January 13. There, she remained in custody until her deportation on the first flight to Cuba.
