A 26-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday in the Little Haiti neighborhood of Miami for possession of child pornography. The suspect, identified as Briley Gargis, lived right across from the Edison Park K-8 Center, a public school in Miami-Dade County.

Miami Police Department agents executed a search warrant at the residence located at 421 Northwest 67th Street, where they found 127 images of child sexual abuse, with victims ranging from 2 to 14 years old. According to statements from police spokesperson Michael Vega reported by Univision 23, 15 videos were also discovered showing girls aged between two and ten engaging in sexual acts with adults.

The detained individual was transferred to a patrol car in handcuffs, attempting to hide his face with a hoodie. The operation was carried out by the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit. Local 10 News was present during the operation and documented the arrest.

Neighbors and parents of students at the educational center reacted with outrage. “We are clearly in front of a school, and obviously, that is extremely dangerous for the children,” declared a mother to Univisión 23. Another father added: “For example, I come to pick them up every day... This situation is concerning.”

A housemate of the suspect said he was surprised: "I’ve known him for a year and a half, and I would have never imagined that."

Gargis faces 15 charges for sexual performance by a child and possession of child pornography. He was booked at the TGKCC facility under case number F25006685, and so far, no bond has been set. The investigation is ongoing and more seized electronic devices from the residence are being examined.
