"Now he will have to answer for what he did in court," Gutiérrez remarked triumphantly, highlighting the action as "another great step in the fight against drug trafficking in our area."

So far, the authorities have not provided any additional official details about the accused, the amount of money seized, or the specific charges he faces, although it is believed he will be tried for offenses related to the production and trafficking of illegal substances.

The plantation was dismantled on the spot, and the individual was taken to police custody, according to the images and comments shared by the spokesperson. This operation is part of the Cuban regime's offensive against drug trafficking, set against a backdrop of increasing control and surveillance over agricultural activities in rural areas of Havana.

In December of last year, a young man was arrested in the municipality of Gibara, Holguín, after several marijuana plants were found in his home that he was cultivating clandestinely.

The operation was part of the intensified actions against rural drug trafficking by the Cuban authorities, who have identified an increase in the domestic cultivation of narcotics in remote areas. V

In March, the regime admitted in an official report that networks of marijuana and cocaine trafficking were detected in Camagüey, which was labeled as a serious threat to national security.

Authorities also acknowledged the involvement of minors in activities related to drug trafficking, as well as the use of agricultural spaces to conceal illicit crops.

A few days later, a man was captured in Santiago de Cuba who had been cultivating over 200 marijuana plants in his home.

The arrest sparked extensive debate on social media, where users questioned the authorities' effectiveness in detecting such cases in a timely manner. The images from the operation revealed the scale of the plantation, highlighting an alarming level of sophistication in these types of illegal crops.

Recently, authorities conducted one of the largest drug operations of the year in the province of Holguín, resulting in the detention of 69 individuals and charges against 16 for drug trafficking. In addition to marijuana, synthetic drugs such as "the chemical" and controlled medications were seized.

In this raid, large sums of cash, weighing instruments, and distribution materials were also seized. Authorities emphasized that these operations are part of the "Third National Exercise for the Prevention and Combat of Drugs," with a special focus on rural communities and educational centers.
