Limay Blanco, also known as Muñi Muñi, is a Cuban comedian born in the Silvio Caro neighborhood of Bahía Honda, in the Pinar del Río municipality. Coming from very humble origins, he has often stated that his house had a dirt floor and that his spelling mistakes are due to the fact that he went to school to "tell stories."
Limay, who as a child and young man had a great talent for telling Pepito's stories, formed a comedy group in the 90s with Ismel Gonzáles called Los Comelocos. His big break came with the comedy contest Los Amigos de Pepito, a humor program that, in the format of a joke contest, launched comedians like Lemay, who won all the phases of the competition: the quarterly, the semiannual, and the annual.
In 2019, he shared through his social media the news of his resignation from the Yoruba religion and his subsequent conversion to Christianity, which sparked significant controversy among his audience. Limay uses his social media not only to promote his work and inform about his performances on the island but also to update his followers on his private life.
In 2020, he did so following a publication that highlighted the desperate situation of a mother and her five young children, who live in extreme poverty in Pinar del Río, whom he publicly pledged to help once the pandemic was over.
In January 2021, the comedian solicited help on social media for a 3-year-old girl who might lose her only healthy eye after the other was removed due to ocular cancer. “Her parents lack the resources and are asking for assistance. She urgently needs treatment, for which it is essential that she travels,” the comedian remarked on social media.
Recently, the controversial comedian opened the doors of his home on his YouTube channel after facing harsh criticism for his work assisting underprivileged families and demonstrated that everything he has is the result of his hard work. He also reiterated his desire to build a cabaret with the aim of raising funds to continue his charitable work.
In November 2020, it made headlines for being involved in the purchase of a wheelchair for a young Cuban with a disability residing in Villa Clara.
