A young couple, identified as "Ketty" and "Hansel," was brutally assaulted to steal their motorcycle in Santa Cruz del Norte, province of Mayabeque.
The attack, which occurred three days ago as they were returning home to the remote village of "El Rubio," not only left them without transportation but also subjected them to brutal inhumanity.
According to lawyer Manuel Viera, who reported the case on his social media, the assailants did not limit themselves to robbing the victims of their motorcycle, but also beat them with extreme violence.
In an act of indescribable cruelty, the criminals broke their fingers to take their rings, dislocated their jaws, and ripped out gold teeth. Then, believing them to be dead, they threw them into a ravine by the side of the road.
The victims were rescued and urgently transported to a hospital in Havana. According to an update provided by Viera, by 5:00 p.m. this Monday, they were reported to be out of danger despite the serious injuries sustained.
Relatives demand justice and offer a substantial reward
Alpízar González, father of Ketty, one of the victims, offered a generous reward to anyone who provides information that helps identify and capture those responsible for the violent assault.
The man promised 30 million to anyone who provided information within the first 24 hours, and 15 million after that.
On social media, hundreds of internet users have expressed outrage at the brutal robbery and are calling for justice and a tough stance against the criminals.
A problem that cannot be ignored
Lawyer Manuel Viera has emphasized the need to make these events visible so that they do not fall into oblivion or silence.
"A nation is not built with 'likes.' Events like these cannot go unnoticed or be silenced to protect images or political interests. Silence does not prevent occurrences like this," he stated firmly.
Viera also clarified that his intention is not to create sensationalism or gain followers, but to inform about the increasing insecurity affecting citizens.
He categorically refused to share images of the attack out of respect for the victims and their families, warning that he will not respond to requests for photos from users on social media.
As of the closing of this report, there are no further details about the unfortunate incident.
